*“Scrap Birds” are born from discarded metal — the constant cycle of transformation found in nature. Industrial iron, once extracted, forged, used and abandoned, takes on a new life as sculpture.
My creative process mirrors this journey: raw, instinctive and ever-changing. Each piece carries the marks of its making — hammer traces, weld scars, and the silent memories of the materials themselves.
The scrap comes from many places, each fragment holding an unknown story: a farmer’s old sickle, a gear from a Galician sawmill, a bolt carried by the ocean, a broken tool gifted by a neighbor, a tractor part worn smooth by the soil of Extremadura.
